Warranty
Last updated: [DATE]
1. Your statutory rights come first
This warranty is given in addition to, and does not exclude or limit, any rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantees as to acceptable quality and fitness for purpose, or any equivalent mandatory law where you live. If there is any inconsistency, your statutory rights prevail.
2. What we warrant
| Component | Period | What is covered |
|---|---|---|
| Composite hull panels | [N] years | Structural integrity of the four-layer composite panel, including failure of a heat-welded fold crease under normal use within the rated folding cycles |
| Hull seams and joints | [N] years | Separation, delamination or leakage at a fused joint that is not caused by impact or misuse |
| Bottom board | [N] years | Delamination or structural failure of the marine plywood under normal use, excluding rot caused by storing it wet |
| Seats and transom bracket | [N] years | Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship |
| Accessories (stabiliser floats, wheel set) | [N] months | Manufacturing defects. Consumable wear items are excluded. |
The warranty runs for the original purchaser from the date of delivery and is not transferable unless we agree in writing.
3. What we do when a claim is valid
We will, at our option and depending on the seriousness of the fault:
- Repair the affected part, or
- Supply a replacement part or a replacement boat, or
- Refund the purchase price where repair and replacement are not reasonable.
Where the fault is ours, we cover the cost of freight both ways. Where a boat has to be returned because you cannot complete a repair on site, we will arrange the freight and tell you what to expect before it moves.
4. What is not covered
The warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by:
- Impact. Hitting rock, reef, concrete ramps, submerged objects, or another vessel.
- Punctures and cuts. From fishing hooks, knives, anchors, sharp cargo, or contact with sharp edges while loading.
- Overloading. Exceeding the maximum persons, maximum load or maximum motor power shown on the boat data plate.
- Unauthorised modification. Including drilling the hull, fitting hardware to a non-reinforced area, or cutting the hull to fit accessories.
- Neglect. Storing the boat wet or damp, allowing water to sit in the hull, or leaving the bottom board in standing water.
- Normal wear. Surface scratches, scuffs, fading from prolonged UV exposure, and wear to seat covers or wheels.
- Misuse. Use in conditions the boat is not designed for, use as a towed craft, or use for a commercial purpose we have not agreed to in writing.
- Improper transport. Damage caused by securing the boat badly to a roof rack, trailer or tray.
- Accident, fire, flood or other external event.
Consumables — including cleaning products, touch-up materials and any item we identify as consumable at purchase — are excluded.
5. What we need from you
To keep the warranty in force, you should:
- Assemble and fold the boat in line with the supplied instructions. Do not force a panel against a fold line.
- Rinse the hull with fresh water after use in salt water, and dry it before folding and storing.
- Store the boat dry, out of standing water, and preferably out of prolonged direct sun.
- Keep your proof of purchase.
- Tell us promptly when you notice a problem. Continuing to use a boat with a developing fault will usually make it worse and can affect how much we can do for you.
6. Assembly and folding cycles
The hull folds along machined fold lines. These are designed for a working life of many cycles, and we test to a defined figure. Our current published rating is [N] fold cycles under normal use. This is a wear rating, not a promise of infinite folds: a fold line is a moving part, and it is the first place to look if you suspect a problem.
If you notice a fold line stiffening, whitening or showing surface cracking, stop using the boat and contact us. Reporting it early is almost always cheaper for both of us than continuing to use it.
7. How to make a claim
- Email [SUPPORT EMAIL] with the subject line “Warranty — order number”.
- Include your order number, the model, the date of purchase and a description of the fault.
- Attach photographs or a short video that clearly show the problem, plus one wider shot of the whole boat.
- Tell us how many times the boat has been assembled and roughly how it has been stored.
- Wait for our written assessment before returning anything. Returns sent without authorisation may be refused.
We aim to respond to warranty claims within [N] business days with an assessment and the next step.
8. Your rights if you disagree
If you disagree with our assessment, tell us. We will explain the reasoning in writing and reconsider. If the matter remains unresolved, you may be able to take it to your state consumer affairs body, to the ACCC, or to a tribunal or court. Nothing in this process takes away your right to do that.
